Blueprint for a new Repertory 1994
The first printed version of Synthesis was edition 5, printed in 1994. It was accompanied by the release of a booklet entitled "Blueprint for a new repertory", written by Frederik Schroyens.
This small but groundbreaking publication was the very first of its kind to introduce the formatting rules behind the creation of a homeopathic repertory - specifically, Synthesis.
Existing rules were obviously considered, but Frederik Schroyens took pride in announcing the blueprint for a new repertory, because he made a thorough and original work.
This originality is probably best explained by this quote from the Introduction (page 5): "If this repertory was to be printed, it should be done only if we could offer a dramatic increase in the quality of the Repertory, its structure, its language and the consistency of its information."
Blueprint for a new Repertory 2001
Frederik Schroyens’ ceaseless efforts to recreate and innovate the editing rules of homeopathic repertories have given Synthesis the reputation of an original work of outstanding quality.
With successive editions of Synthesis, more original ideas were documented in updates of the Blueprint. A new version of the "Blueprint for a new repertory" was printed with Synthesis 8.1 (2001).
Textbook of Repertory Language 2007
The adjustments and innovations accumulated so much that the Blueprint was eventually given a new, more academic name: "Textbook of Repertory Language".
This publication of 2007 (accompanying Synthesis 9.1) was co-authored with Peter Vint (Germany), who, for many years, was Frederik Schroyens’ main collaborator.
In addition, the content had increased to such a quantity that it was decided to publish only part of the Textbook as a book and the rest on a CD.
Even doing this, this printed part contained 243 pages, whereas the original Blueprint of 1994 counted 124 pages in total.
