One of the most significant advances in homoeopathic literature during my 55 years of practice was the introduction of the repertory programme Synthesis in the late 1980s by Dr. Frederik Schroyens.
Synthesis was not only an essential clinical tool but also a valuable educational resource, playing a crucial role in the training, research, and education of homoeopathic students.
I fully recall my first meeting with Dr Frederik Schroyens while he was working on the draft of his project, and I did not doubt that he owned the intellectual property at that time. Later, we were both elected to the Fellowship of the Faculty of Homeopathy and met numerous times thereafter in the UK and Europe to discuss Synthesis and its importance in homeopathic practice.
I followed the development of the various versions of the programme up to and including Synthesis Adonis (2022).
Most recently, I reported on Dr Schroyens’s presentation showcasing his work at the LIGA Congress in Utrecht 2025 for the Faculty of Homoeopathy Journal Simile, of which I have served as Editor for 17 years.
My long professional relationship with Dr Frederik Schroyens, and my experience working with many authors as the Editorial Director of a homoeopathic book publishing company, have led me to believe that Synthesis is entirely his own work.
