I write as a senior medical doctor, academic and teacher to offer my unequivocal support for Dr Frederick Schroyens regarding his authorship and intellectual ownership of the Synthesis project. In my view, the challenges to his reputation are unsubstantiated and have caused unwarranted harm to his distinguished career.
In multiple roles from 1983 onwards, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Dr Schroyens. I witnessed firsthand his inception of the Synthesis project, his directorship of his team, that team's work in action, and the progressive iterations of his Synthesis and its success. His vision, dedication, and combination of leadership and advanced homoeopathic skills, created a new methodology for corrective historical revision, and future development of the repertory.
His contribution has proved so significant to the field, that Synthesis became recognised as the new gold standard of repertories, as evidenced by its adoption and use by professionals worldwide. His work then served as a critical foundation for homoeopathic software (such as Radar and its successors), adding to this software’s credibility and, by extension, its success.
As my roles involved extensive international contact with the homoeopathic community, this places me in a position to confirm the community-wide respect for Dr Schroyens and the confident knowledge of his authorship of Synthesis and his pivotal role in its development.
Based on these direct experiences and my long-standing engagement in medical and academic circles, I am confident in the validity of Dr Schroyens' authorship and his enduring contribution to Synthesis. I urge all parties to consider the facts and to respect the professional integrity of a colleague who has dedicated his career to advancing knowledge and practice in homoeopathy.
