Testimonial Marcus Fernandez, RSHom FSHom

LONDON, ENGLAND

I  am writing to confirm that, in my professional opinion as a Homeopath of over three decades, and as a lecturer and college Principal since 1998, Dr. Frederik Schroyens is the author of the Synthesis Repertory.

The Synthesis Repertory is one of the most widely used and respected modern homeopathic repertories. Compiled and authored by Dr. Frederik Schroyens, it represents a monumental effort to gather, organise, and systematise the vast body of homeopathic Materia Medica and clinical experience.

Dr. Frederik Schroyens is undeniably the author and editor-in-chief of the Synthesis Repertory. While it is true that the repertory builds upon the foundational work of James Tyler Kent and incorporates material from many classical and modern sources, it was Dr. Schroyens who:

  • Conceptualised, compiled, and structured the repertory into what we now know as Synthesis.
  • Devoted over three decades to continuous refinement, expansion, and correction.
  • Oversaw the meticulous sourcing of rubrics and remedies back to original references.
  • Guided the transformation of Synthesis into its modern, digital form, used in RadarOpus and by thousands of practitioners worldwide.

In that sense, Dr. Schroyens is the author in the same way that an editor-in-chief or compiler of a definitive work is recognised as such. He did not “invent” every rubric, just as Kent did not invent every rubric in his own repertory. But he created, organised, and sustained the work that became Synthesis.

To dismiss his authorship is to misunderstand the nature of repertory creation: it is always collaborative in sources, but it requires a single guiding vision, discipline, and leadership to bring it together. That role has been—and remains—Dr. Schroyens.
